The Canal Society of Indiana offers fun and educational tours that span across Indiana’s historic canals, and this fall they are taking the show on the road to Ohio! You can download and fill out the registration form for the 2024 Fall Tour at this link.

The Wabash & Erie Canal cut through the northwest corner of Ohio, directly through the Black Swamp, and it even overlapped the Miami & Erie Canal.

The tour will take place Saturday, August 17, starting at 10AM. Guests will visit the Paulding County History Museum, plus there will be driving and outdoor components to the tour! There will be something for everyone.

You will even have the chance to explore the Black Swamp Nature Center after the tour concludes, so you can enjoy nature in the area that was once among the biggest obstacles to the canal’s construction.

Registration cost ranges from $10-$15 per person, so this is a great deal for a day of learning fun!
