A Canal Camping Experience!

If you are looking to enjoy a peaceful getaway while also getting hands-on with Indiana history, we invite you to visit the picturesque campground at Canal Park. There are options for all camping needs: large and small RVs, pop-up campers, and tents are all welcome. There are even rustic cabins on site if you would rather not bring your own shelter! The campground is located just behind the Interpretive Center. In the interest of welcoming as many guests as we can, we offer a seven day maximum stay.

From April through October, we have four full-service sites available, two water-and-electric sites, and one electric-only site. We also have primitive tent sites, as well as rustic cabins for rent through Airbnb. There are shower and modern toilet facilities in the campground. Free wifi is available for guests as well.

The campground is adjacent to a beautiful, historic trail system, as well as the historic buildings of Canal Park and an award-winning museum devoted to Indiana’s Canal Era.

From November through March, we have three full hookup sites available for self-contained RV’s.

Attention Big Rigs

Your GPS may route you to our park via Washington Street from downtown Delphi. This route includes a steep railroad crossing, and you may wish to use the alternate truck route. This route is accessed from SR39/US421 just west of Delphi. From the highway, turn north on 9th Street. This street will become Washington Street as you pass around the industrial zone, and our park entrance will be on your right.

Rustic Canal Sleeping Cabins

These three log cabins are a great way for visitors to sample a rustic canal experience! The smallest cabin (Cabin A) is available for 1-2 guests, measures 7 feet by 9 feet, and has bunk beds measuring 73 inches long by 26 inches wide.

The mid-sized cabin (Cabin B) can accommodate up to 3 guests. The large cabin (Cabin C) can accommodate 5 guests. Click the links below to read more about each cabin and make your reservation today on Airbnb!

Campground Guidelines and Policies

  • For fastest service, guests should reserve their camp site online. If needed, guests may reserve campsites by phone (765-564-2870). All reservations must be prepaid in full with credit or debit card. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during the summer season.
  • Guests may also self-check in at the Gray Barn with cash or check, but only for sites that are not reserved or occupied.
  • Check-in time is 1:00 PM or after. Check-out time is noon, and any renewals must be made by 11:00 AM.
  • Guests may book up to a seven-day stay which allows more campers to experience and enjoy Canal Park. Guests may book an additional seven days one month after their prior visit. Maximum 6 people and 2 vehicles per site.
  • Pets are welcome at our park, but no more than two pets are permitted per camping unit. Dogs must be kept on a leash and may not be left unattended when they are outside. Pets are not allowed inside the buildings in the park. Please pick up after your pet. Excessive barking is not permitted, and guests may be asked to leave with no refund if pets are causing a noise nuisance.
  • Fire rings are for burning firewood only. No trash is to be placed or burned in the fire rings.
  • Fire rings are not to be moved by guests.
  • Alcohol, fireworks, and firearms are not permitted.
  • Dumpster is located behind the Interpretive Center. All trash is to be placed in the dumpster so sites are cleared for the next guest.
  • Use of generators is not permitted on the campground, except in the event of a power outage.
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • Cancellations made 8+ days prior to your reservation, you will receive a refund minus any credit card transaction fee and a $10 cancellation fee (per reservation that is canceled).
  • Cancellations made 1-7 days prior to your reservation will receive a refund minus any credit card transaction fee and the first night’s fee.
  • Cancellations made on the day of your reservation or later will receive no refund.
  • No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
