A Canal Camping Experience!

If you are looking to enjoy a peaceful getaway while also getting hands-on with Indiana history, we invite you to visit the picturesque campground at Canal Park. There are options for all camping needs: large and small RVs, pop-up campers, and tents are all welcome. There are even rustic cabins on site if you would rather not bring your own shelter! The campground is located just behind the Interpretive Center. In the interest of welcoming as many guests as we can, we offer a seven day maximum stay.

From April through October, we have four full-service sites available, two water-and-electric sites, and one electric-only site. We also have primitive tent sites, as well as rustic cabins for rent through Airbnb. There are shower and modern toilet facilities in the campground. Free wifi is available for guests as well.

The campground is adjacent to a beautiful, historic trail system, as well as the historic buildings of Canal Park and an award-winning museum devoted to Indiana’s Canal Era.

From November through March, we have three full hookup sites available for self-contained RV’s.

Note: All card transactions at Wabash & Erie Canal Park are subject to processing fees. This will typically add between 3%-4% to the base cost of your reservation.

Attention Big Rigs

Your GPS may route you to our park via Washington Street from downtown Delphi. This route includes a steep railroad crossing, and you may wish to use the alternate truck route. This route is accessed from SR39/US421 just west of Delphi. From the highway, turn north on 9th Street. This street will become Washington Street as you pass around the industrial zone, and our park entrance will be on your right.

Rustic Canal Sleeping Cabins

These three log cabins are a great way for visitors to sample a rustic canal experience! The smallest cabin (Cabin A) is available for 1-2 guests, the mid-sized cabin (Cabin B) can accommodate up to 3 guests, and the large cabin (Cabin C) can accommodate 5 or more guests. Campground Guidelines and Policies

  • Guests may reserve campsites by phone (765-564-2870). Reservations must be prepaid in full with credit or debit card. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during the summer season.
  • Guests may also self-check in at the Gray Barn with cash or check, but only for sites that are not reserved or occupied.
  • Check-in time is 1:00 PM or after. Check-out time is noon, and any renewals must be made by 11:00 AM.
  • Guests may book up to a seven-day stay which allows more campers to experience and enjoy Canal Park. Guests may book an additional seven days one month after their prior visit. Maximum 6 people per site.
  • Pets are welcome in the campground but must remain leashed when in outdoor spaces. Maximum two pets per site. Pets are not allowed in the rustic cabins.
  • Alcohol, fireworks, and firearms are not permitted.
  • Maximum two vehicles per site.
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • Cancellations made 8+ days prior to your reservation, you will receive a refund minus any credit card transaction fee and a $10 cancellation fee (per reservation that is canceled).
  • Cancellations made 1-7 days prior to your reservation will receive a refund minus any credit card transaction fee and the first night’s fee.
  • Cancellations made on the day of your reservation or later will receive no refund.
  • No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
