$63.00Description: Students will learn to draft wool fiber and spin it into yarn using a drop spindle. The end of the class will be an introduction to using the spinning wheel. Drop spindle and extra wool will be sent home for continued practice.

Instructor: Beth Cripe. Beth fell in love with spinning 8 years ago, learning to spin from a friend. After spinning Suri Alpaca fiber and loving it, Beth now breeds Suri Alpacas. She demonstrates spinning and weaving at several reenactments, including Feast of Hunters’ Moon, Colonial Market Days, and Kohkohmah. In 2022 & 2023, Beth’s hand spun yarn won Judge’s Choice award at Suri Network National Fleece Show.
Cost: $63.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials.
Skill Level: Beginner, ages 12-14 or older, depending on attention span, since this is a long class. No previous experience needed.
Class size: Minimum 2, maximum 5 students.
Location: Wabash & Erie Canal Park, Kuns Cabin
Participants Bring: Nothing.

- Registration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.
- All classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.
- To reserve your spot and pre-pay by check, please mail a check to Canal Park, attn: Classes, 1030 N. Washington Street, Delphi, IN 46923. Please identify your desired class(es) in the check’s memo. A fee will be charged for returned checks.
- We reserved the right to cancel classes if minimum registrations are not met. If we cancel a class, students can transfer without a penalty. A full refund (minus credit card fees) will be given to students who do not wish to transfer to another class.
- Students may cancel or transfer classes up to two weeks prior to a class without losing their payment (minus credit card fees). Deadline to register is two weeks prior to class.
- Students may cancel their registration until two weeks prior to the class date. After this two week deadline, there will be no refunds or transfers.
- If a student transfers to another class prior to the two weeks of class, a 20% transfer fee will be charged. The transfer must be for a class within one year of the original class.
