The Delphi
Cruise the highways like it’s 1850. That’s right, our nation’s highways once looked much different. Long ago, if you wanted to get from one place to another, the smoothest, least bumpy route was by waterway.
We have an authentically replicated passenger boat called The Delphi for you to take a smooth 40-minute narrated tour down the canal!
Take a Ride!
To celebrate the Canal Era and the 1850’s way of life, schedule
a boat ride at Canal Park from April through October.
- Public Rides: Narrated cruises are offered to the public on Saturdays at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. These are offered from late May through early September.
- Private Rides: Special arrangements are required for private events during the week or weekends. Please call or Email.
- The Delphi is equipped to accommodate wheelchairs, but please call ahead so arrangements can be made.
- Prices for private events are $250 for your group’s first ride and $150 for each additional ride.
- The Delphi holds approximately 25 adults or 30 children.
- Rides last approximately 40 minutes and start from the dock next to the Canal Center building.
- The Delphi operates in rainy conditions, but not when there are high winds or lightning.
- There are situations when The Delphi is not able to operate due to mechanical issues or water levels in the Canal.
Although these situations are rare, you may want to call ahead to check on conditions. Please be aware that we are on Eastern Time.
