Family Reunions
Grilled burgers, hot dogs, fresh lemonade, and Aunt Susan’s meatloaf—it’s that time again. It’s the one time each year when the whole family gets together to exchange stories, new ideas, and the latest news about how your little ones are growing up.
There’s no better place to watch your children play than on the play boat. Or go for a nice walk through the various gardens and walking paths in Pioneer Village and get caught up with family members as you take in some local history!
Enjoy the Scenery
Beautifully cultivated gardens, authentic replicas of 19th century homes, trade workshops, and the lengthy spread of the gorgeous canal makes the scene for your get-together.
Well-Equipped Facilities
Along with the scenery, we have all the essentials for a fun-filled day. Just bring food and family—or hire a caterer!

More than a good time, our Canal Park is a good place for you and your children to learn about how people lived in the past.
Campsites
Want more than a single day of visiting with family and soaking up the old-world atmosphere? We have multiple campsites, as well as rustic canal sleeping cabins, to choose from with water and electrical services available in select sites.
Historic Trails
Get out and enjoy nature with the family, both 2-footed and (leashed) 4-footed. There are 10 miles worth of trails available for you to take on foot or on bicycle. There are information kiosks throughout with additional historic facts about the area.
Interpretive Center
Great fun for young and old! There are plenty of displays and interactive exhibits to delight the whole family. Enjoy the scale models and the full-scale canal boat cabin and snag a memento at the gift shop!
Canal Village
Not only can you visit with your relatives, but the Canal Village gives you a rare opportunity to learn about how your ancestors lived. See the period homes and trades workshops, such as the blacksmith, cooper, broom maker, weaver and papermaker.
Canal Boat
It’s certainly a delight to take a ride on The Delphi through our scenic canal. These 40-minute rides show you what it was like to travel the “highways” of yesteryear.
Group Tours
Learn all about the way people lived in this area in the 1800s as a family. See Delphi from the eyes of a knowledgeable docent who simulates the way people talked, acted, and thought in the past.
