DESCRIPTION:Description: Learn weaving by making either 2 placemats or a short table runner on a 2-harness loom. \n \nWhen: Saturday\, April 11\, 9:00AM-1:00PM \nInstructors: Instructors are members of Wabash Weaving Guild.  The Weaving Guild has existed for 40 years.  Jan Young\, wove hot pads as a child in 4-H\, taught elementary school for 40 years\, and now not only weaves cloth but also weaves stories at Feast of the Hunters’ Moon (since 1977).  Vilija Deutschman is a long time weaver who also loves the history and heritage of this craft.  Sue Hodge\, a retired accountant\, who has lived in Carroll County for 43 years\, and has been weaving for 8 years.  She also enjoys knitting and quilting. \nCost: $45.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials. \nSkill Level: Beginner\, ages 12 and older. \nClass Size: Minimum 3 students\, maximum 6 students. \nLocation: Bowen Cabin (if more than 3 students)\, Loom House (if 3 students) \nParticipants Bring: Nothing. \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nRegistration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.\nAll classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.\nTo reserve your spot and pre-pay by check\, please mail a check to Canal Park\, attn: Classes\, 1030 N. Washington Street\, Delphi\, IN 46923. Please identify your desired class(es) in the check’s memo. A fee will be charged for returned checks. \nWe reserved the right to cancel classes if minimum registrations are not met.  If we cancel a class\, students can transfer without a penalty.  A full refund (minus credit card fees) will be given to students who do not wish to transfer to another class. \nStudents may cancel or transfer classes up to two weeks prior to a class without losing their payment (minus credit card fees).  Deadline to register is two weeks prior to class.\nStudents may cancel their registration until two weeks prior to the class date. After this two week deadline\, there will be no refunds or transfers.\nIf a student transfers to another class prior to the two weeks of class\, a 20% transfer fee will be charged.  The transfer must be for a class within one year of the original class.

DESCRIPTION:Help us make Canal Park look its best before Canal Season opens!\nThis is a volunteer opportunity open to all ages\, skills\, and interests.\nMeet at the Speece Picnic Shelter in the center of the Pioneer Village at 9AM\, and join a work crew for a variety of tasks in Canal Park and its trail system. At noon\, volunteers can enjoy a free meal provided by the Delphi Psi Otes.\nPlease RSVP so we can be sure to have enough food for everyone.

Opportunities include serving as a tour guide\, boat crew member\, gardener\, historic trades artisan\, historian\, and more. \nVolunteering is a great way to connect with your community\, share your talents\, and discover meaningful purpose while helping preserve local history. No prior experience is needed; our welcoming team will provide all the necessary training. All you need is a desire to make a difference. \nRefreshments will be provided. SUMMARY:Spring Wildflower Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Wabash & Erie Canal Park at 2:30pm\, April 18 and see blooming spring wildflowers. Perhaps Wild Ginger and May Apples will be in their blooming prime\, while some wildflowers like Dutchman’s Breeches may still be blooming. \nThe photo above shows White Trout Lilies blooming in a sea of their own leaves. We may also see the baby turtles that appear this time of year. \nSeasonal migrating birds are back. Perhaps we will see the Baltimore Orioles that nest at the upper end of the Towpath Trail. \nThe public\, of all ages and skill levels\, is invited to join for this guided walk. Narrating the walk will be David McCain\, and the group will depart from the Interpretive Center at 1030 N. Washington Street in Delphi.
