DESCRIPTION:Your community needs you!\nCome learn about joining the dedicated volunteer team at Wabash & Erie Canal Park in Delphi. If you are interested in serving the community\, learning something new\, and having a great time in the process\, you won’t want to miss this opportunity. \nThere are roles for every interest and personality\, and you can read about some options here. The Volunteer Fair will begin at 1:00PM and will include a tour of Wabash & Erie Canal Park and its facilities. Current volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and teach you something new. \nWhatever role interests you\, our volunteers will be glad to show you the ropes. Whether it’s piloting the canal boat\, greeting guests at the front desk\, researching artifacts\, or even blacksmithing or coopering\, we are excited to share what we know so we can preserve this history for visitors far and wide! \nWabash & Erie Canal Park in Delphi has been sustained for over 50 years through the efforts of volunteers of all ages and skill levels. SUMMARY:Woodpecker Trail Opening Walk
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Interpretive Center at Wabash & Erie Canal Park in Delphi for an exploration of springtime treasures along our newest trail: the Woodpecker Trail!\nThe group walk will be led by David McCain\, and the walking route will begin at the Interpretive Center\, heading north towards Founders Point. The group will see a variety of wildflowers and plants\, a sign of spring’s arrival! The total walking distance will be approximately 1.25 miles on mostly flat paths of crushed stone. The Woodpecker Trail (about 0.1 mile loop) includes some stairs and inclines.\nCome celebrate our newest trail\, established thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and AmeriCorps!
