The walk is mostly flat and manageable over crushed stone surfaces through wooded areas\, and the total distance will be approximately 1 1/2 to 2 miles. \nThe group will depart from the Blue Bridge at 10:00am. Parking is available just off Bicycle Bridge Road\, adjacent to the Pizza Hut. DESCRIPTION:Description: Learn a historic skill to make a wooden one-handled bucket using historic tools and methods.  Learn what old tools are still available today and make some that aren’t.  Students must feel comfortable using hand tools and will be learning to make staves\, bottom\, and hoops. Size: 6” w x 5 ½” height + handle = 11” height \n \nWhen: Saturday\, June 20\, 9:00AM-4:00PM. Students may stay later if needed to complete their project. \nInstructor: Peter Cooper.  Peter has been coopering since 1997.  He has taught coopering to over 500 students\, and made coopered products for National historic sites\, national parks and theme parks in the US and Canada. \nCost: $69.00\, includes all materials and fees but does NOT include lunch. \nSkill Level: Adult students preferred\, but teenagers may participate with an adult. \nClass Size: Minimum 2\, maximum 6 students. \nLocation: Cooper Shop \nParticipants Bring: An apron or work clothing and gloves. \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nRegistration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.\nAll classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.\nTo reserve your spot and pre-pay by check\, please mail a check to Canal Park\, attn: Classes\, 1030 N. SUMMARY:Hearth Cooking\, Bread Making - Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:Description: Make breads as you learn how to build a fire in a hearth\, about tools and utensils and pans used in hearth cooking\, safety\, learn boiling using a crane (dumplings)\, frying using a trivet (fried biscuits)\, baking using a dutch oven (breads and cornbread)\, and baking next to the fire (corn dodgers).  Also if time\, make an extract.  Helpful for participants to wear a sturdy apron.  This is a one-day class. \n \nWhen: Saturday\, June 20\, 9:00AM – 3:00PM with 1 hour lunch (bring your own lunch). \nInstructor: Becky Crabb.
