SUMMARY:Advanced Spinning - Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:Description: This class is designed for those students who have taken the Beginning Spinning Class or have some previous experience in spinning.  Students will learn to draft the wool fiber and spin it into yarn using the traditional spinning wheel.  Students may bring their own spinning wheel. \n \nWhen: Saturday\, June 14\, 9:00AM – 12:30PM \nInstructor: Beth Cripe. Beth fell in love with spinning 8 years ago learning to spin from a friend.  After spinning Suri Alpaca fiber and loving it\, Beth now breeds Suri Alpacas.  She demonstrates spinning and weaving at several reenactments\, including Feast of Hunter’s Moon\, Colonial Market Days & Kohkohmah.  In 2022 & 2023\, Beth’s hand spun yarn won Judge’s Choice award at Suri Network National Fleece Show. \nCost: $63.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials. \nSkill Level: Requires having taken Beginning Spinning class or have some spinning experience. \nClass size: Minimum 2\, maximum 6 students. If you can bring your own spinning wheel\, capacity can increase to up to 8 students. \nLocation:  Wabash & Erie Canal Park\, Kuns Cabin \nParticipants Bring: Nothing. \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nRegistration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.\nAll classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.\nTo reserve your spot and pre-pay by check\, please mail a check to Canal Park\, attn: Classes\, 1030 N. Washington Street\, Delphi\, IN 46923. Please identify your desired class(es) in the check’s memo. A fee will be charged for returned checks. \nWe reserved the right to cancel classes if minimum registrations are not met.  If we cancel a class\, students can transfer without a penalty.  A full refund (minus credit card fees) will be given to students who do not wish to transfer to another class. \nStudents may cancel or transfer classes up to two weeks prior to a class without losing their payment (minus credit card fees).  Deadline to register is two weeks prior to class.\nStudents may cancel their registration until two weeks prior to the class date. After this two week deadline\, there will be no refunds or transfers.\nIf a student transfers to another class prior to the two weeks of class\, a 20% transfer fee will be charged.  The transfer must be for a class within one year of the original class.

SUMMARY:Hand Quilting - Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:Description: Learn the basics of cutting fabric pieces\, sewing those pieces back together to form a block\, putting a border on the block\, putting three layers of a quilt together\, and quilting those three layers\, then putting together a small pillow.  OR make an 1850’s sunbonnet with quilted brim. \n \n \nWhen: Saturday June 14\, 9:00AM – 5:00PM (bring your own lunch). \nInstructor: Becky Crabb. Becky was inspired to quilt as a child while watching her grandmothers quilt.  After teaching herself the basics\, she joined a group of older women quilters in Florida in the early 1970s.  She taught basic hand quilting in adult education many years as well as occasional classes at libraries and quilt stores. \nCost: $72.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials. \nSkill Level: Beginner\, age 14 or older unless special permission. \nClass size: Minimum 3\, maximum 10 students. \nLocation:  Wabash & Erie Canal Park\, Fouts House\, or in the Interpretive Center if extra space is needed. \nParticipants Bring: Your own lunch\, fabric scissors\, a heavy thimble that fits your middle finger\, and a pencil. \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nRegistration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.\nAll classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.\nTo reserve your spot and pre-pay by check\, please mail a check to Canal Park\, attn: Classes\, 1030 N.
