SUMMARY:Spring Wildflower Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Wabash & Erie Canal Park at 2:30pm\, April 18 and see blooming spring wildflowers. Perhaps Wild Ginger and May Apples will be in their blooming prime\, while some wildflowers like Dutchman’s Breeches may still be blooming. \nThe photo above shows White Trout Lilies blooming in a sea of their own leaves. We may also see the baby turtles that appear this time of year. \nSeasonal migrating birds are back. Perhaps we will see the Baltimore Orioles that nest at the upper end of the Towpath Trail. \nThe public\, of all ages and skill levels\, is invited to join for this guided walk. Narrating the walk will be David McCain\, and the group will depart from the Interpretive Center at 1030 N. Washington Street in Delphi.

Parking is plentiful and free of charge. After the walk\, enjoy hot beverages in the Interpretive Center!

DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Interpretive Center at Wabash & Erie Canal Park in Delphi for an exploration of springtime treasures along our newest trail: the Woodpecker Trail!\nThe group walk will be led by David McCain\, and the walking route will begin at the Interpretive Center\, heading north towards Founders Point. The group will see a variety of wildflowers and plants\, a sign of spring’s arrival! The total walking distance will be approximately 1.25 miles on mostly flat paths of crushed stone. The Woodpecker Trail (about 0.1 mile loop) includes some stairs and inclines.\nCome celebrate our newest trail\, established thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and AmeriCorps!
