DESCRIPTION:Description: Make two needle felted snowmen approximately 5-6 inches tall. The snowmen can be freestanding or an ornament. \n \nWhen: Saturday September 20\, 9:00AM – 12:00PM \nInstructor: Karen Bradshaw.  About 20 years ago at a Fiber Fest\, Karen got instructions for wool felting and has enjoyed creating different items ever since.  She has many wool felted items on her Christmas tree. \nCost: $79.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials. \nSkill Level: Beginner\, age 16 or older. \nClass size: Minimum 2\, maximum 6 students. \nLocation:  Wabash & Erie Canal Park\, Bowen Cabin \nParticipants Bring: Nothing \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nRegistration and payment are required at least two weeks prior to the class dates.\nAll classes require pre-registration and pre-payment.\nTo reserve your spot and pre-pay by check\, please mail a check to Canal Park\, attn: Classes\, 1030 N. Washington Street\, Delphi\, IN 46923. Please identify your desired class(es) in the check’s memo. A fee will be charged for returned checks. \nWe reserved the right to cancel classes if minimum registrations are not met.  If we cancel a class\, students can transfer without a penalty.  A full refund (minus credit card fees) will be given to students who do not wish to transfer to another class. \nStudents may cancel or transfer classes up to two weeks prior to a class without losing their payment (minus credit card fees).  Deadline to register is two weeks prior to class.\nStudents may cancel their registration until two weeks prior to the class date. SUMMARY:Dyeing - Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Description: Students will learn to prepare wool yarn for dyeing using mordants.  They will learn different dyeing techniques in Colonial America and across the world.  Students will take home their own hand dyed skeins of wool yarn.  Students should wear old clothes and bring an apron. The Traditional Natural Dyeing Class will be held outside using extension cords and crock pots. \n \nWhen: Saturday\, September 20\, 9:00AM – 12:30PM \nInstructor: Beth Cripe. Beth spins Suri Alpaca fiber\, which she has won awards with her hand spun yarn.  Yarn will be used in the dyeing process. \nCost: $63.00. This cost covers registration and all necessary materials. \nSkill Level: No previous experience needed. Students must be at least 12 years old and able to fully focus and participate throughout the class duration. \nClass size: Minimum 2\, maximum 6 students. \nLocation:  Wabash & Erie Canal Park\, Speece Picnic Shelter. SUMMARY:Weaving - Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Description: Learn weaving by making either 4 coasters or 2 coasters and a small runner on a rigid heddle loom.  Finish projects with a hemstitch. \n \nWhen: Saturday\, September 20\, 10:00AM – 3:00PM (bring your own lunch). \nInstructors: Instructors are members of Weaving Guild.  The Weaving Guild has existed for 40 years.  Jan Young\, wove hot pads as a child in 4-H\, taught elementary school for 40 years\, and now not only weaves cloth but also weaves stories at Feast of the Hunter’s Moon (since 1977).  Vilija Deutschman is a long-time weaver who also loves the history and heritage of this craft.  Sue Hodge\, a retired accountant\, who has lived in Carroll County for 43 years\, and has been weaving for 8 years.  She also enjoys knitting and quilting. Susan Smith is a retired math teacher and has been weaving for 9 years. She enjoys mixing fibers and colors to create woven items for her home and wardrobe and is looking forward to sharing the joys of weaving in the class. \nCost: $38.00.
