Canal Days Celebration
Our one-day “Canal Days” event in early July has become a tradition. This is a fun, exciting, and safe way to observe our Pioneer heritage every year—with music, food, history, crafts and activities.
Take a canal boat ride aboard The Delphi. Visit the cabins in Pioneer Village. Trades people are hard at work, including the Broom Maker, Cooper, Blacksmith, weavers in the Loom House, Paper Maker and more. Our knowledgeable docents are in the historic cabins. Our one room School just might be in session too! Guided tours are available to see the beautiful Reed Case house, a restored 1844 home. The Canal Museum is in the Interpretive Center and gives visitors a true glimpse of what it took to plan, build, and operate the canal. Interactive exhibits make it fun for the entire family.
Don’t forget about our campground if you want to stay overnight, reservations fill up fast, so contact the Welcome Desk in the Interpretive Center for more information at (765) 564-2870.
